The pause is the centre of the course. If you let the recording continue, you hear an explanation but lose the moment of retrieval. If you answer first, the explanation confirms or adjusts your reasoning and gives the pattern a stronger place in memory.

Keep a simple page for each lesson:
- Pattern: the relationship or transformation explained in the audio.
- Model: one sentence from the lesson.
- Personal build: a sentence about your work, family, plans or interests.
- Review cue: the question that made you hesitate.
This format is more useful than transcribing the entire conversation. It also makes it easy to return to a pattern without replaying every lesson from the beginning.
